Devcon Security Earns Five Diamond Central Station Certification

Devcon Security’s Central Station Professionals Certified as Industry Elite

HOLLYWOOD, FL–(Marketwire – May 14, 2012) – Devcon Security, a residential and commercial security provider servicing nearly 300,000 customer sites, today announced it has again achieved the prestigious Five Diamond Central Station Certification from the Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA). This recognition, earned by security providers that meet the CSAA’s five points of excellence, highlights Devcon’s commitment to its customers, and represents the highest standards in central station communications.

Of the more than 2,700 central stations in the U.S., less than five percent of those stations attain the Five Diamond designation. CSAA certification requires 100 percent of operators to complete training and demonstrate proficiency in everything from alarm verification to interaction with emergency personnel.

The CSAA certification requirements include the following:

- Proficiency in alarm verification, which helps reduce false alarms
- Proficiency in communications with the Public Service Answering Points, such as the Emergency 911 centers
- Knowledge of electronic communications equipment, including radio
- An understanding of the codes and standards of such organizations as Underwriters Laboratories, Factory Mutual, the National Fire Protection Association and others
- Proficiency in the area of emergency preparedness under a wide scenario of possibilities
